Support of members:
- Prepared the internet-based renewable-energy study material development (DIERET project)
- Distribute simple computer models for alternative energy planning
Lobbying:
- Follow pan-European work for energy efficiency in Energy Charter and UN ECE
- Start a regional campaign for the implementation of the goal of 10% windpower in the global electricity mix.
- Join protest over new reactors in Ukraine (K2R4)
- Follow development in EU
- Joined protest to Russian police over imprisonment of energy activists
- Follow European follow-up of UNESCO World Solar Plan of Action, participating in the Solar Expert Meeting, Sofia, December 1999.
- Followed the UN-ECE Committee on Sustainable Energy, November 1999
Other:
- Conducted INFORSE-Europe General Annual Meeting as E-mail Conference, November 15-30.
- Published (in 1998) the "Sustainable Energy Successes in Central and Eastern Europe" (32 pages).
