Brief
on FP7 The EU research and development program has substantial support for energy research, for sustainable energy as well as for nuclear energy. The support for sustainable energy is together with support for fossil fuel given within the non-nuclear energy programme. Currently funding is within the 7th Framework Programme 2007-2013 (FP7). The funding is given to cooperation between different entities, often research institutions, but others can also participate. Currently there are open calls for proposals with a deadline of 29/4 2009, covering proposals on renewable electricity generation (PV and biomass), renewables heating and cooling for industries, solar and biomass/geothermal combinations, smart electricity networks with large-scale renewables, energy efficiency in the energy intensive industry, knowledge for energy policy making, and clean coal. See 2009 Programme here INFORSE-Europe Proposals INFORSE-Europe has made recommendation to strengthen priorities of EU research and development for sustainable energy in the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) - Plan, read here (pdf ) Return to EU Policy Page |
