INFORSE was established at the Global Forum, NGO parallel event to the UNCED Conference (Earth Summit), in 1992. INFORSE has NGO observer status at UN ECOSOC since 1998 and UNFCCC since 2002.

• UNFCCC - United Nations Framework on Convention on Climate Change
  INFORSE has participated on UNFCCC Conferences:
  - INFORSE will participate at UNFCCC COP 17 in Durban, South Africa 2011. New!
  - INFORSE participation at UNFCCC COP 16 in Cancún, Mexico, 2010.
  - INFORSE participation at UNFCCC COP 15 in Copenhagen, 2009.
  - INFORSE's participation, side event and exhibition during UNFCCC COP 14 in Poland, 2008.
  - INFORSE's review of UNFCCC COP13 in Bali, 2007.

• UN CSD - (United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development)

• Rio Process Conferences: Follow Up of UNCED - United nations Conference on Environment and Development
  INFORSE was formed at the Global Forum parallel to the UNCED Conference in 1992 and since then the network participated in severl followup conferences:
