INFORSE was established at the Global Forum, NGO parallel event to the UNCED Conference (Earth Summit), in 1992. INFORSE has NGO observer status at
UN ECOSOC and UNFCCC since 1998.

UNFCCC
INFORSE has participated on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conferences:
- INFORSE participation at UNFCCC COP 15 in Copenhagen
- INFORSE's participation, side event and exhibition during UNFCCC COP 14 in 2008 in Poland.
- INFORSE's review of UNFCCC COP13 in Bali in 2007.

UNCSD
INFORSE has participated on the UN Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD)’s sessions, e.g., CSD 9, CSD14 and CSD15. Read more on it INFORSE at UN CSD.
